The older "DG HSM" version for SLRs (EOS, Nikon F, and Sigma's own SA) needs an adapter. Sigma offers their MC21 adapter for EOS and SA mounts. I'm not sure what adapter you need for F mount. You really want the newer "DG DN" version which is available in L mount and (Sony) E mount. You can't adapt the E mount version to L mount. The L mount version obviously doesn't need an adapter.
