Hey Guys,

I’m about to decide on a 50mm for my M6 and I’m going for either the vintage Elmar 50mm f2.8 or the more modern Summarit 50mm f2.5.

Today I came across a very nice used Fujifilm XT200 in excellent condition for 230€ so I snagged it. I’ve never shot Fuji but wanted to see what these simulations are about 🙂

I’m interested in adapting Leica glass to the Fuji, and I’m wondering if anyone else is doing this? I’m worried if collapsing these type of lenses on a non M camera will hit / damage the sensor

Thanks!

i use a lot of vintage lenses + summilux 50, summicron 90, elmarit 180  M42 etc etc on my XH-1, but have not used a collapsible lens.

Collapsibles will not hit or damage the sensor, because it's protected by a frame (or collar) narrower than the lens-tube. But the lens-tube might scratch the collar a bit under certain circumstances. Don't have the Elmar 50/2.8, but 50/3.5. It collapses on Fuji-X plus adapter, but not completely (1-2 mm remaining). I would prefer non-collapsible glass.

Of course I'm using several Leitz-lenses, M and screw mount, on X-Fujis with the original Fuji-adapter for M-lenses. But in my experience the results are only good for focal lengths 50 and more, not really convincing for 35 or even shorter in the outer parts of the image. For example: The Summicron 35/2 ASPH is not a bad lens at all, but on my X-Fujis nearly every adapted good 35-lens for SLR-cameras (Nikon, Contax-Zeiss, Topcon etc.) produces better results, and the original Fujinon XF 35/2, computed for the Fuji-sensors, is  far superior in image-quality - on a Fuji.

My solution for my APS-C camera. Gasket for a syphon. I use 2 to be safe.
