wolan Posted August 4, 2024 Share #1 Posted August 4, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi this week end I went out for a shooting with my M11. I updated to the latest firmware right before I left. I have experienced the following problems, which I have never seen before with this camera: The camera does not immediately shoot the picture when the shutter release is pushed, instead, it waits a few seconds, like when the timer is active, and then it shoots. It happened some 5-6 times. Some 3-4 pictures came out with strange artefacts (file attached). It happened only one time.(the white stripes have been added after export in JPEG, I do not see them in Capture One) File is corrupt message try to review the shot after been taken. I cannot find in CaptureOne I must have deleted. Have you seen any problems after firmware update? Thanks Welcome, dear visitor! Smogg Posted August 4, 2024 Share #2 Posted August 4, 2024 This looks very much like a memory card issue. Try changing the card and taking photos with backups to the internal memory to understand the source of the problem.

Kiwimac Posted August 5, 2024 Share #4 Posted August 5, 2024 I was shooting yesterday on the street from waist height without looking through the viewfinder. Several shots were completely missed, much to my confusion. However it was too noisy to hear the shutter. I figured I was being incompetent although I didn’t think I’d missed the shots so completely. Reading this, I’m wondering if I actually had the aforementioned shutter delay.

The only thing you should carry over and don't have to reset is the image numbering. Also make sure you're not using a UHS-I SD card as advised in the release notes. marchyman Posted August 5, 2024 Share #10 Posted August 5, 2024 Whenever I get flaky operation on a device after updating I do a factory reset. That often resolves the issues I saw. This goes for any device, not just Leica Cameras. Yoy might want to give that a try.
