Almizilero Posted August 4, 2024 Share #1 Posted August 4, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) This was a special evening for me, so instead of putting it in the Stage thread, I'll give it it's own. I've been a fan of Anna Ternheim since I've been abroad in Stockholm for my Master thesis over 20 years ago. By chance, I bought her first album there and her music kept resonating with me through the years. I've been to a couple of her concerts, and for the one in my hometown this weekend, I finally got a a photo accreditation. As usual, only the first three songs and this was outdoors, so the light wasn't very interesting yet. But so what, I got to shoot one of my favourite artists! I don't think I've been this giddy before a gig since I shot my first show Hope you enjoy the pictures! SL2-S with 90 APO or Samyang 35-150 Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Hi Almizilero, Take a look here Anna Ternheim (Singer Songwriter). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted August 5, 2024 Share #2 Posted August 5, 2024 A lovely set - I would have been happy with the results. Now I must hunt up her music. Also interesting that her Martin 00 has an electronic pickup.
Almizilero Posted August 5, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted August 5, 2024 Thank you! Her biggest hit is probably Shoreline, which is actually a cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2kXfktKg_Y My personal favourites are A French Love (naked version) and Every time we fall. Overall, I prefer the “naked” versions of her albums, they're not really a capella, but simplified to the core of the music and her voice.

lanetomlane Posted August 8, 2024 Share #5 Posted August 8, 2024 Very nice; I particularly like the third (B&W) image. https://photographybytomlane.com
Almizilero Posted August 11, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted August 11, 2024 Thank you! Yes, despite my signature () I also think that in many cases, stage photos get a different (better) vibe in B/W. So usually I mix it up a bit and try different edits to see what feels better for each image to my personal taste.
Almizilero Posted August 14, 2024 Author Share #7 Posted August 14, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I just saw that her official Instagram Account used one of my pictures (#4 in this thread). Which is kinda cool. But they didn't care to give credit or a mention, which kinda sucks. I also wrote a friendly email to the management right after the concert to see if they were interested in some photos (or even further collaboration), which they completely ignored (at least I think that after 10 days an answer is quite unlikely). I didn't really expect anything to come from this, but I actually did expect an answer (aka a short, firm but friendly copy/paste rejection), since that is the appropriate (and professional) thing to do. Combined with the uncredited use of my work this leaves a rather bitter taste which I now have to separate from my enjoyment of the music itself. In comparison, the supporting act actually approached me if he could use some pictures, credited me correctly and was overall very friendly and professional about it. But he still has to do these things himself without a managment and social media team ... Edited August 14, 2024 by Almizilero
