Maikel Posted July 25, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted July 25, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I store DNG on CFe and JPG on SD. How can I set my SL3 in a way that I am only looking and deleting DNG files and not also having to look at (identical) JPG's while going through my pictures on the screen and how to avoid I have to delete also the JPG files when I delete the DNG file. I store JPG's only because I can more easily send them to others using my iPhone but for my photography I only want to look, select and delete DNG's and have the JPG's stored/deleted in the background. Is that possible? Â Rgds, Maikel The Netherlands
Advertisement Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Hi Maikel, Take a look here Store DNG on CFe and JPG on SD; how can I adjust settings so that when I delete a DNG file, also the JPG gets automatically gets deleted (and I don't need to delete twice)?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

You can simply format the SD card in-camera and all JPGs will be gone. If you store the DNG and JPG on the same card, deleting the image will delete both DNG and JPG. I prefer this as I set the camera to store to both cards simultaneously to have an automatic backup. Then I upload one of the cards in the computer in Bridge and rate and sort/delete the images. Mostly I keep nearly everything - you never know for the future and storage is cheap.

The Fotos app give you the option to copy only JPG. not sure it is necessary to have it on a separate card.
jaapv Posted July 28, 2024 Share #5  Posted July 28, 2024 Actually, I agree. It has no additional value to do so. Writing to two cards does have advantages like getting an instant backup or extending storage, but I see no addd value here.
