Wow, great find! Please let us know how it works out in December, I would be curious to see and how much.

I will do. I have ordered one to test so will report back. It was £216 plus vat. It’s a 10m usb-c to lemo in bright pink.

1: old battery type  with new camera:
Leica does not recommend this combo.

Leica has been clear from the very start that the 007 and later cameras are not compatible with the S2/S-006 battery. My guess is that this is related to the introduction of live view.

They've also been very clear that the same chargers work for both types of batteries, and they kept selling/including the same chargers.

I'm not sure why any of this is controversial. Just follow Leica's recommendations and you'll be OK.

I’m not sure but they work perfectly with my Type 007 and S3. Because they are usb-c they are also so much faster

I think the speed is limited by the camera side and the cable.  Faster USB should not make difference. Long cable due to degraded signal integrity can slow down.

I would not expect it tome better than Leica's original cable. I would concern more on the USB-C to LEMO compatibility, particularly the long term reliability.

I disagree, a slow computer USB port can also be a limiting factor - we do not know the speed that the Leica camera sends out because I do not believe they publish that.  The S3 has the same body, but a different circuit board than the S007 (than the S006).  Like good spark plug wires, it can make a subtle difference, but a difference none the less.

Theoretically you are right. The question is whether Leica S camera could respond faster if it knows the computer side USB port or the cable is capable of faster transfer.

If it could, it must be verified. I doubt Leica would built the test environment to very the then yet unavailable USB protocol.

I am highly skeptical about the faster then original stuffs, I would also concern any over rated electrical characters, voltage or power.
