The M6 re-issue is not exactly the same as the MP on the inside, although I agree with your comparison of the M6 / MP in terms of benefits. The new M6 actually fits the old IXMOO brass film canisters on the inside.  The bottom plate does not have the notch necessary to turn it, but you can put an older M6 or M4 bottom plate on and it opens the cartridge to use. This is the first camera since the early M6’s that would fit an IXMOO.  The film cannister chambers were made differently and you could not even insert the IXMOO. That is actually exciting to use a modern film camera with the same reloadable cartridges I use on the M3 and M4.  This tells us the M6 was made to spec at some level even though the shutter, viewfinder and meter are likely the same as the M6 and many other body parts. elcanada Posted July 22, 2024 Share #42 Â Posted July 22, 2024 Does the IXMOO not fit because the body shell is slightly different on the MP? I have read some users have had issues with fitting older baseplates on the MP. Or is the shutter crate shaped differently? if it's the former, then my statement remains correct: the re-issue M6 is an MP with a different exterior. The body shell is the camera's exterior, together with the top cover and baseplate.

Yes, they go well beyond a 'CLA' (and don't use that term): https://www.cameraworks-uk.com/camera-repairs-and-servicing https://www.cameraworks-uk.com/detailed-price-list But they 'do not currently support the M5 or the Leica CL' and 'due to lack of parts and in order to streamline our services and reduce turnaround times ... no longer offer repair or servicing on Leica M6TTL and Leica M7'.
