hellobrandonscott Posted July 7, 2024 Share #1  Posted July 7, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Admittedly a super niche question - but any idea if the new dual USB-C charger will power off a USB-C port in a Tesla? My current solution for charging batteries during a wedding is to leave an AC adapter plugged in to the 12V port in the trunk with two normal battery chargers plugged in. This works, but is a bit clunky and the fans on the AC adapter run pretty loudly. If the dual charger thing works, it'd be a lot cleaner and more simplistic.
Advertisement Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Hi hellobrandonscott, Take a look here Will the new dual charger charge off a Tesla USB port?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted July 8, 2024 Share #2  Posted July 8, 2024 That is entirely dependent on the power rating of the USB port. Consult the specifications of the car.
DigitalHeMan Posted July 10, 2024 Share #3 Â Posted July 10, 2024 It's going to depend on the specific Tesla model that you have. The Cybertruck offers a massive 65W on the USB ports, whereas a Model 3/Y is around the 15W mark (although this seems to vary based upon date of manufacture). There don't seem to be too many details around the Leica charger, but I read in another thread that it needs 27W when charging two batteries. Presumably it will work at a lower power rating, but not as fast.
