Lightwrangler Posted October 16, 2024 Share #4 Posted October 16, 2024 This is a bit of a late answer, but I bought the lens for a safari trip this year. I was concerned about the weight and it still is a concern. The lens is heavy and although I found a setup to carry it on strap on the SL2-S it is still a massive piece of glass. When it needs to be carried for a longer time, I would prefer the backpack. On the other hand I loved the pictures. The lens is very sharp and - most of all - very versatile. Landscapes and animals in a distance - both are possible, no need to change lenses. You can react quickly to any situation. Zoom by pulling the barrel is very quick as is the autofocus. When not carried, but used from a car the lens is the best piece of equipment you can have for such an occasion. Welcome, dear visitor! Pierre68 Posted October 25, 2024 Share #5 Posted October 25, 2024 This is a picture I took of my daughter at a horse jumping event with the Sigma 60-600 on the SL2-S. The 60-600 range is a perfect fit for this kind of event as the horses sometimes run 200 meters and sometime just 10 meters from where I stand. And as you can see the AF did not catch on the trees as the horse was passing beetween them Welcome, dear visitor!
