Advertisement Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Hi Fred Miranda, Take a look here What filter for 35mm Summilux Steel Rim Re-Issue?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
aficionados Posted September 15, 2024 Share #22 Posted September 15, 2024 1 hour ago, Fred Miranda said: Yes, unfortunately, the EINS filter does not work with either hood. Although it’s thin (1.1mm), it shifts the position of the lens pin, preventing proper attachment of the hood. However, if I want to use a UV filter with the OLLUX, I just drop a B+W 43mm UV filter upside down inside the lens. The hood connects without any issues, and the filter does not move once the hood is attached. What do you mean by upside down? I have a B+W t-pro 43mm filter and I don’t see a way to drop in. Do you mean inside out ? Filter from facing the senor?

How safe is this? can you shoot with this setup outdoors without risk of the hood and filter falling? Thanks

Are you using the old style B+W filter or the new "master" version? I was thinking of picking up one to try it as I don't have any 43mm filters. I'm hoping the current version with the machined grippy edges will still work: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1668863-REG/b_w_66_1101498_43mm_uv_haze_010.html I'm asking because I don't think they sell the old version anymore with the smooth edges. I have no idea if they measure up the same or not.

28framelines Posted November 28, 2024 Author Share #32 Posted November 28, 2024 I got the Silver Leica UV filter which obviously doesn’t work with the OLLUX hood. Given I only shoot film, and haven’t developed the film yet, I’m not sure if the silver inside rim of the filter will cause additional flaring (or that gets negated since it’s a UV filter). Maybe I should have bought the black filter haha

Jewl Posted December 12, 2024 Share #35 Posted December 12, 2024 I currently use the URTH UV+ filters. Look very decent in terms of thickness and „stealth“. Don‘t like if too much is printed on the filter itself. Had b+w slim filters before which are also quite reliable!
