Jonathan Levin Posted June 17, 2024 Share #1 Posted June 17, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can you use studio strobe for multishot in order to get large file? If I copy artwork (paintings, drawings, etc) I’d be using tripod. I’m guessing this won’t work but some sort of continuous source will. Thanks. FlashGordonPhotography Posted June 18, 2024 Share #3 Posted June 18, 2024 I use continuous lighting when doing artwork reproduction. You don’t need a lot of light. Just light that doesn’t show reflections, as best as possible. Gordon
Jean-Michel Posted June 18, 2024 Share #4 Posted June 18, 2024 Documenting artwork is best done with continuous lighting, most often with polarizing both lights and lens. Also, it is important to remember that most painting are there dimensional: brush stokes, knifed paint, etc. And you better include some form of colour checker or patches in order to come anywhere close to the colours of the artwork, and for the eventual use of the reproduction.
