Tomasz Kowalski Posted June 16, 2024 Share #1 Posted June 16, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello The other day I found a dot in the photo which is dust inside the lens, the appearance of the dot changes depending on the aperture. Does anyone know this problem? The camera is quite young and didn't take many photos. Does the warranty cover cleaning? Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Hi Tomasz Kowalski, Take a look here Leica Q2 dust inside the lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
coleica Posted June 16, 2024 Share #2 Posted June 16, 2024 I don't think it is on the lens. Instead I believe it is on the sensor. Others will correct me if I am wrong.
earleygallery Posted June 16, 2024 Share #3 Posted June 16, 2024 Almost certainly on the sensor, if not the rear element of the lens. Is the Q2 meant to be 'weather' sealed? If so I'd send the pics to Leica and ask them how they think it's happened.
JNK100 Posted June 17, 2024 Share #4 Posted June 17, 2024 That certainly looks like dust on the sensor.
ianforber Posted June 17, 2024 Share #5 Posted June 17, 2024 Looks like the sensor to me. The Q2 is weather sealed but I don’t think any camera can keep out dust for ever. Definitely send to Leica to sort it out.
Tomasz Kowalski Posted June 17, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted June 17, 2024 The waiting time is 4 months and there is no guarantee that they will not appear again. I don't know what I will do
ianforber Posted June 17, 2024 Share #7 Posted June 17, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Will the store give you a temporary replacement (Q3?). If it’s within warranty it’s worth asking.

I don't know what I will do From where I stand, you have two choices. One is to send it in and have the issue resolved. Specially, if it is still under warranty. Second, you can remove the spot during post-processing process. Me, knowing me, I would wait until there is a lull in my photographic routine and send it in for cleanup.
