Abandoned building alongside a once-busy highway in SE Georgia, USA.  (I wish the iPhone 15Pro came with a lens hood.  ;<)

I’ve tried the app.  Overpriced and unimpressive.

That's very difficult to argue with.  The free version does nothing others are missing and the paid version adds very little to the free one.  If Leica wants to make it "Leica quality" the company needs to get to work on this.

Downloaded the App and tried it a week in NYC. That’s a fine alternative to carry your Leica with you. Not the same but still a lot of fun

Two shots from Oxford: the Pitt Rivers Museum and Christ Church Cathedral.

Taken with the free app on an iPhone 13. It's a very real free benefit, as the iOS Camera app will not take raw images on the iPhone 13. The raw images are far more malleable and recoverable in highlights and shadows than the jpgs.

A good way to practice (like playing scales) and capable of decent pictures. Not without much effort and inconvenience, though. A dark cloth or a Hoodman- type gadget would make it easier to see what’s in the picture.

Perhaps this thread should be renamed, ' Random smartphone photos pretending to be Leica cameras '

Oh please, why is this even here?

I mean, the same could be said about almost every other camera they've come up with after the M. Some people will utilize it while others will be snarky. I own an M, an SL and a Q...After shooting with the grip and the app, I'm having fun with it. (that's why it's here)

How do you access that “lens”?

It seems that the Lux App uses the phone’s native lenses, without significant cropping - at least, that’s the way it appears.  With my iPhone 16 Pro (three lenses), I get the choice of 28(Summilux), 35 (Summilux), 50 (Noct 1.2 and IA), 120 (Summicron & Thambar) & 135 (APO Telyt).

I asked Leica why the Thambar was 120 and not 90, and was told that the iPhone 16 didn’t have the capability for that focal length, whereas the iPhone 15 does.  I didn’t dig into it further.  It’s a fun App with the Lux Grip.
