Datachrome Posted June 4, 2024 Share #1  Posted June 4, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone I have this Summicron 35mm ASPH since a while. Today I decided to check the inside with a light to see if it was not too hazy, and I can see a weird ring inside the glass. It's mainly when the light is coming through the back at an angle. Is it decementing or something? Anyone with the same lens has ever seen the same thing? It's an early serial, the lens has no DX code. Thanks a lot for your help Welcome, dear visitor! 69xchange Posted June 4, 2024 Share #2  Posted June 4, 2024 this is normal, mine (all 3) have that ring too at certain angles.
farnz Posted June 5, 2024 Share #3  Posted June 5, 2024 That's the 'Ring of Fire' that helps the camera to decide at which moment to release the shutter. The ring also helps the autofocus to select round shapes.* Pete. *I might have made all of this up. 1
