Been testing a Leica SF26 (FW 1.1) flash on an X2 (FW 1.1) and found with the camera exposures set to M, eg

- shutter speed (1/125) and aperture (#5.6), the images are quite nicely exposed.

The Leica SF26 documentation states that it is supported on a Leica X.

As the SF26 is TTL only, Just trying to understand the X2 manual on page 137 where the following is documented :

"On the Leica SF 24D, the mode TTL/GNC should be set to allow automatic
control by the camera. When set to A, subjects with above or below average
brightness may not be optimally exposed. When set to M, the flash exposure
must be adjusted to the aperture and distance values specified by the camera
by setting a corresponding reduced power output level."

Whilst the resulting SF26 flash images are very nice, just wondering for extra fine tuning,  if the X2 has FEC ?

Been hunting through the manuals and camera menus and cannot find FEC..

Thanks.

Through rigorous testing I have determined that whilst the SF26 attached to the X2 has no FEC, the resulting flash photos are quite good.

I have found a better configuration outcome for the SF26 fitted on the X2 hotshoe:

- Set the X2 flash settings to Studio, and shutter 1/250 @ISO100 and #5.6

- Set the SF26 to Slave (which can be adjusted for full, or 1/2 or 1/4 strength as required), and it can be placed vertically on the X2 hotshoe.

- Pop up the X2 internal flash to trigger the SF26 slave, this direct flash has a gentle fill-in effect.

The resulting flash photos are beautifully soft lit.  I had to get this working for a evening family event, whereby I didn't want to use my M.

Whilst the X2 and SF26 are "aged" they still capture outstanding images. ( I still shoot a M10-R with 50APO & 35FLE )
