Hi All,

Would like some feedback on the film advance lever on film M bodies while resting thumb on it and releasing shutter. I noticed that the lever free's up immediately after shutter is released, which causes my thumb to move slightly if resting on it.

This is quite different from my Nikon film bodies which lock the lever in place when resting the thumb on it and firing, it will only release if pressure from the thumb is let go.

Any advise?

Well it is normal for your MP so nothing to worry about, and the lever moving in a similar way after firing is the same on my Nikon F and F2 bodies, it's only from the F3 onwards where you have to release tension on the lever a fraction.

Thanks for the feedback! Is it the same for all film M's?

Yea I have an FE2 and FM2 which locks in place and tension has to be released before winding again (which I think I prefer).
