Bohns Posted May 19, 2024 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good evening everyone 😃 Of course, it's not from Kerouac. This is just a collection of photos from our Icelandic "road trip" last summer, of which the road or the signs are a theme. Welcome, dear visitor! The tracks with ford crossings were made with a "real" 4WD and a guide (not with our rental SUV 4WD). The fords often exceeded 80 cm deep. If LFU members are planning to go to central Iceland, this is a useful precaution, unless they are experienced in 4WD driving and have a snorkel. Other threads (landscapes, traditional dwellings and church, waterfalls, etc.) should follow. jimofnyc Posted May 20, 2024 Share #7 Posted May 20, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I understand that the Icelanders have the highest per capita consumption of coffee and internet usage... I have been there once. A fantastic place. Get a hotel with a geothermal heated swimming pool.

Guest-houses rather than hotels, not to be stuck in the same place for several nights. But I agree that what Icelanders call « hot tub » is a must have 😁 Beware of booking several months before trip. Certainly not during summer. « There is no bad weather, just bad clothes » (Icelandic and northern countries proverb).
