Bohns Posted May 18, 2024 Share #1 Posted May 18, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all 😃 It's been forever since I posted here for something else than technic. A stroke at the end of 2021 and its long after-effects to compensate prevented me from doing it as before, but I was right to keep my gear. We made a stay in Iceland again in the summer of 2023, 5 years after a shorter first stay. In particular, we were able to perfect our photo preparation; I was a little short in 2018. There, with Sigma's "bazooka" 150-600 on my SL2, I was good. Here are some (very compressed) photos of the Icelandic fauna. We didn't go back just for the grandiose landscapes of this volcanic island. Seals, to begin with: Welcome, dear visitor! And with the whales: This one was taken in "wide angle" (at 105 mm 😊) by my wife with an SL and 24-105 Panasonic. Arctic tern; very fast and erratic : Arctic child-fox with its summer fur: Atlantic puffins will follow… regards, Stef. About 1200 pre-sorted photos that I have just finished dealing with LR, out of a total of 6000 shots of landscapes, social, wildlife, traditional dwellings... it will be difficult to make a definitive sorting for the album. Good challenge for my sons, my wife and me 😉 Regards, Stef. stuny Posted May 20, 2024 Share #3 Posted May 20, 2024 Both sets are quite lovely. And what good fortune to catch a whale breaching.

Thank you very much, @stuny 😃 Indeed, the boat followed 3 whales which played with us during almost 30 minutes before diving. We were lucky enough to watch them breaching 4 times. This, quiet sea and sunny weather so close to 66° North pleased us 😉 5 years ago, again in Iceland, we tried whales watching and had no luck with heavy sea and rain. Regards, Stef.
