Film M-A Camera with SF C1 remote control unit paired with SF60 Flash - Red AF Assist Light won't stop blinking!

Hello!

I have a Leica M-A and a SF C1 remote control unit with the SF60.  It is successfully paired and it works when the SF60 is in the A position - I can manually control its output level using the "M" mode on the SF C1 unit. The flash works great... however, the front facing Red AF Assist Light won't stop blinking!

I've looked online an there is no mention of how to disable this flashing light (other than gaffer's tape).

If I set the SF60 to "M" mode, the light stops blinking, but that completely eliminates my ability to control the output level using the SF C1.

The digital M cameras have menu features to turn off the AF Assist Light via the menu (i.e., Q3, M-11), but is there a way to do this inherently with the SF60 so I can use it discretely in wireless, handheld mode?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello. I have the same issue and I don't see anything in the manual about it. It might have something to do with the connection to the SF C1. When I switch it to other settings than that of A, B, or C on the flash then the red flashing light goes away. Have you found a solution to this?

I did find more information!

I spoke with the amazing staff at the Leica Store (Meatpacking New York) and they indicated that the red flashing light on the flash indicates a wireless connection to the SF C1 hot shoe module is active. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable the flash from blinking red when used wirelessly. I hope this info helps!
