Been using my Q3 now for about six months and it’s been performing flawlessly up until yesterday!

I inserted a freshly charged battery, when I switched the camera on, the rear screen just ‘glowed’ and the camera would not switch off until I popped the battery out. This happens frequently and it’s not until battery is popped in and out a few times that it fixes itself…..so annoying

Has anybody else experienced this ? If so, is there a fix ?

Thanks in advance

Andrew

I use a Sony G Tough 128GB V60 card and never experience(d) such problems. People with San Disk seem problem free too. I'd try one of those cards to see if the problems go away. Otherwise you should send it in

There is an issue with the start-up process with the Q3 that people reported here in this forum and in other communities like Leica sub-reddit.

I had something like this and reported it to Leica with all the other reports owners made here and on reddit. Still waiting for a feedback from Wetzlar.

Try the following steps first:

- Format your SD card in-camera

- Format your SD card with the SD Formatter Official SD Card Formatter

- If none of those both aforementioned steps work, try another SD card

Did you do a firmware update? You don't have the latest version if you never updated the camera since you got it.

They just released a new firmware 2.0.3 that sounds like will fix your problem.

I was looking on the website and couldn't found it until; someone posted a new thread informing that it can be found via FOTOS app. That the last place I am looking for an firmware update to be honest.

However I just updated the v2.0.3 via FOTOS app and it worked without any issues. The update was quite fast. Did that on my old iPhone 11.

I should have mentioned that earlier, most firmware upgrade will released on the Fotos app first before they become available on the Leica website. Did the new firmware fixed your issues?

Same issue. I posted here last month but no one seems to have this problem.
So once u manage to awake the camera once, the camera will be able to power on no matter how many times u take out and insert the batt.
Howver, the next day it will happened again.
I put my battery in the drybox. So I was suspecting that when I turn on my aircon in my room overnight, the batt in the dry box becomes cold and it caused this phenomenon.
I was able to replicate this issue every single day for almost a week and then I contacted my Leica sales.
He asked me to bring it down to the store.

And viola! The camera works well and able to power on. I told my sales that the camera knew it had returned to the store.
Thereafter I never put the batt in the drybox, and the occurrence is not 100% hit.

I saw fw 2.0.3 has this camera won’t start up after a battery change. Not sure if it’s meant for this issue
