It's Sunday night here I have realised that there are a dozen images missing from a shoot yesterday afternoon. I remember shooting some "gilded angels" at a city event. The images are missing from the upload to Lightroom and they are not on the Cf card. Yesterday my friend arrived after shooting the images in question. I was showing him how I could share images through the Fotos app and while he was viewing what I was doing, I shared one shot of these "angels" to his messages account.

Anyway as it turns out all the gilded angels images are missing and I think Fotos app has something to do with their disappearance. There is no way the images could have been deleted or misdirected during the upload from the card. I have a lock tight system for cataloguing and uploading after each shoot so it must be something I did in the Fotos app. I have all the images before and after the gilded angels. Perhaps I should read the instructions? Has someone experienced a similar issue?

Ken,  I can't help you directly with your SL3 and lost files.  You might have seen this thread in the SL3 forum about lost image files.  If you don't find a solution, you might post an email to Leica Customer Service and let them know the issue and your observations.   r/ Mark

Thanks Mark, I remember seeing this sometime ago before receiving my SL3. I am hoping its user error and somehow i pressed delete when those images appeared on the phone/fotos app. Thanks

You could try scanning your card for deleted files and potentially recover them. The package I use is photorec:

https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

It's basically a command-line tool, but for Windows at least there's also a point and click GUI:
