@Dr. G

Thanks for this comparison! From my iPad it is difficult to see the differences as I am not at home. Probably if you have a decent monitor available you could give a clue where the differences lie? Or if you could make some DNG’s available for download? For what it is worth, for what I am seeing now I could be very happy with either lens.

As promised, here are the f/2 renderings.  This time I added the 50 APO Summicron-SL to each series for comparison.

Am considering this lens for my new to me SL2. Are you using this as a normal fifty or are folk treating this more like a specialty lens?
Thank you.

Why would you buy such lens? Portraits? Ability to shoot in dark places at 1.2 or just its bokeh? Genuinely asking.

You didn't ask me, but if I may answer it anyway - in my world buying such a lens to be able to "shoot in dark places" does not make sense at all. f/1.2 doesn't give a noticeable difference in that regard compared to other f/1.4 lenses og besides that -  modern cameras produce clean images with very high ISO values - so what's the point?

If you want to buy this f/1.2 Sigma - the only valid reason could be because you are bokeh junky - in a same fashion as people, who buy Noctilux lenses (be it f/1.2, f/1 or f/0.95)
