Koudelka's 'Next' book

I plan on buying this but didn't yet - just sharing a bond with him as we both use the 35 summicron v2 😊

Does anyone have this?

No, but I have Gypsies and Exiles which are excellent. This no doubt contains a fair proportion of images from these, in which case you won't be disappointed.

Having just been upbeat about it, some reviews do complain about their being less images than they anticipated and that those shown are rather small..... and the rather cheapo print and paper quality. 

It is mainly a Biog. so I suppose you can't have everything .....

I have it, and I have several others of his.  This one seems to have been put together by someone else in his immediate group, as the selection is less critical.  That's why the pictures are smaller -- there are more of them.  There is more biographical material than you usually find. It's his story and he tells it as he chooses to.  That's OK with me.

yes I could tell it was more of a biography (which was what I was looking for), not a pure photo book - I was looking for travel reading and the size of this was too big for now.

It's not a photo book, it's a biography about Koudelka.  There are many photographs, but they are there to support the text. Not the other way around. 

Having said that, I quite enjoyed the book, and learned a lot about him and his technique.

Note the subtitle: "A visual biography" by Melissa Harris.  I think he has some health limitations now, but this is a way to get his work out to his audience, of which I have always been a part.  And it is interesting to hear more about his life, adding to the rather detailed story which his pictures have presented.

I have it, if you are a fan of his work, it’s a must buy. Lots of insights into the man and his process.
