I was reading a review on the overgaard.dk site, and he mentioned the possibility of a Q3-S that would be less expensive and be more like a Q2, 47MP, no flip screen, etc.  Any thoughts to that becoming a reality?  I'm on the fence mainly because I don't want the flip screen so I've been thinking maybe Q2, but if a Q3 version was to be released I would wait for that.

Not sure, I would hope it would have updated viewfinder, processor, but the article didn't say much.  It was addressing the dislike for the flip screen. Not sure if Leica would continue with two different Q models at the same time. If they are still making the Q2 monochrome alongside the Q3 I think it would be the first time two different "Q"'s (different bodies) were being produced together.  I would think Leica would just want one body at a time so the thought of a Q3-S alongside the Q3 to me seems unlikely.

Let's start a "rumour" that the Q3-S will be the "Still Images only", No-Video optimised "Q". Followed by the Q3-SM (Monotone} version.

Another rumor could be the Q3-S short for Q3 Sport.  A 7 megapixel global sensor capable of 4 frames/second for only 7000usd.   : )

Leica can barely keep up with the demand for the Q3, so spending time and money to produce a cheaper model and lose margin makes no business sense. You only do something like this if you a) see the rate of sale for the Q3 has begun to slow b) you have surplus production capacity.

My wish would be a Q3D…no rear LCD screen.

The screen on my Q has been ‘off’ since I bought it…heck it may not even work for all I know.   I shoot digitally like I do film…carefully, economically.   After I finish a shoot I download the images to see if I did it correctly.

If the flip screen is the hold-up, and the camera is, everything you want it to be, why not just ignore the the fact that it moves?   Just a thought.  As stated above, if they made a 3 without the features you mention, wouldn't it be a new model Q2?  I very rarely look at the screen on mine.   Good luck on your search!

Yes, but we can clearly see the result when we take the photo through the EVF screen?

Seeing it momentarily (I have mine set to the least possible time displayed) is not the same as studying every frame minutely on the LCD.
