Leica Q2 Leather half-case.. what brand am I looking at here?

Recently purchased this Q2 in fantastic condition. (2'900 EUR, if you must know)

Came in original box including the Leica store tote, with warranty until end of 2024, and extended warranty to spring 2026.

Currently waiting for a thumb grip that I ordered off of ebay. Using the Paracord strap from this awesome manufacturer on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1000308467/premium-paracord-braided-all-black-peak?show_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details  (got the same one for my R7 but without the Peak Design clips)

The camera unfortunately had only one battery included, and the absence of 3rd party batteries on the market has me a little worried.. I'm not gonna spend this much on an oem spare unless I absolutely have to.

 

Anyways, the camera came with a beautiful leather half case that has no logo or brand name anywhere.

Solid aluminium baseplate with precision cutouts for access to the battery and memory slots.

It appears to be of very high quality genuine leather, but I couldn't figure out who made it.

The bottom cover has a brass button lock, but it's also magnetic at the hinge in the middle.

 

Has anyone seen this before?

Looks like one of the Chinese brands.

Buy the second Leica battery. If you need one it’s worth it after spending that much on a camera anyway.

it does look incredibly similar, yes.

But Arte di Mano stamp their name into the case. And they didn't use the brass button on the Q2 half case.

 

Maybe it really is an incredibly well-made chinese one. 🤔

Mine has a brass knob on the flap.

But yeah, looks like a chinese knock-off.

Well, after having owned a LIM's (on my Q), a Kazaa (on my Fuji X-Pro1), and an Arte di Mano (on the Q that I got as a stand-in while I waited to get my own back from Wetzlar), I can say that the quality is excellent on all of them!

Arte di Mano is ridiculously overpriced and not at all worth the cost.

The knock-off that I've got here (hard to imagine, considering the previous owner makes high 5 figures a month..) is of formidable quality and looks amazing.

LIM's makes a fantastic half-case with very solid grip that feels incredibly well-made and worth the money you pay.

Kazaa is an interesting brand that produces great quality cases made from stunning leather, and sells them at a steep price. (Considering they are made in China, I'd say they are overpriced, bc the workers most definitely don't get more than 10% of the retail price.)
