Lewca Posted April 6, 2024 Share #1 Posted April 6, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I use an M lens (specifically the 75mm summilux f1.4 vIII) on the SL2-S, I experience a continuous flickering of the LCD/EVF screen. The problem only seems to happen with this lens. I am using the Leica adapter and the lens is not coded. If I turn off lens profiles in the menu, this tends to sort the problen out, but when I select this lens ... the problem returns. Has anyone experienced this problem/any insights? Advertisement Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Hi Lewca, Take a look here SL2-S screen flickering with specific M lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Photoworks Posted April 6, 2024 Share #2 Posted April 6, 2024 I would be curious to see what the flickering looks like. I assume you can replicate it outdoors in daylight.
Lewca Posted April 6, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted April 6, 2024 Here is a video of the behavior... when I turn off the lens profile for the 75 lux, the flickering stops. 20240406_181321.mp4
Lewca Posted April 6, 2024 Author Share #4 Posted April 6, 2024 Sorry the video is so short (limited by the size restrictions on the Forum). I will try it outside ... probably tomorrow.

Lewca Posted April 7, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted April 7, 2024 Thanks Photoworks 😀 I will try that. I wonder if getting the lens 6-bit coded might help... that is my last resort.
davidmknoble Posted April 7, 2024 Share #7 Posted April 7, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) My recollection is that there are two screen refresh rates you can choose from for the EVF (maybe both). Be sure you are on the slower one and also look to see if you have the same behavior outdoors. The lights might refresh at the same rate or just a little different from the display refresh rate. Lewca Posted April 7, 2024 Author Share #8 Posted April 7, 2024 Thanks DavidmkNoble ... i checked and the EVF frame rate is set to 60fps. It may well have something to do with the lights as it is inconsistent for sure. Next time its happens I'm going to stand by the window and see what happens. Buscap Posted July 1, 2024 Share #9 Posted July 1, 2024 Lewca Same issue, same lens 75 lux on my SL2. I googled it and found your post. Going to NJ to see what they say… Rich
Buscap Posted July 1, 2024 Share #10 Posted July 1, 2024 Lewca, I left the lens profile as “unknown” and it seems to be ok for now. Also called NJ and left a message. My 75 lux in not 6 bit coded either. Rich
