I recently purchased the SL3. Coming from the Q2 there were three things that were noticeably, to me, absent from the SL3 package.

  1. No accessory shoe cover. The accessory shoe cover is such a little thing. Why wouldn’t Leica include it?
  1. No battery charger. The battery charger is a more expensive item; but I’ve been buying digital cameras since the 90’s and this is the first camera I have purchased that did not include a charger.
  1. No printed user manual. I know the manual is online, but there are still those around who like paper copy.

Anyone else out there who noticed these omissions? Or is it just me? At the price point of the SL3 I think they should have been included.

You can order a printed copy of the manual and Leica will ship it to you.
Leica’s approach should be the norm, it’s more environmentally friendly as no paper is wasted, and a lighter, smaller box means less petrol wasted in transit.

Accessory shoe cover isn't needed since camera is weatherproof.

what else is missing is a cable release, a kit lens, and for nostalgia a roll of film. and don't forget stickers.

Why do you need a cover? in all the cameras I have that is the first plastic that stays in the box, you can save lots of plastic by not including it..

I got a printed manual in my box! maybe they run out of paper in a later run.

The charger.  I have a few already, and I think I would have liked a USB charger, but not the double, a single one. But EU law came into effect this year for cameras and only offering it optional.

and Leica hopes you will stick with Sl3 for next 20 years. Greta said so too. It will be 3 Co2 kg instead of 20 Co2 kg.
