grahamc Posted April 6, 2024 Share #1 Posted April 6, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello. I came across this cap today. Talking with the shop staff, they were honest enough to say they weren”t sure which lens it was originally made for. But the knurling matches exactly the bottom of the v1 35 Summilux,l. Does anyone know if it could’ve been made for that lens or perhaps originally made for something else ? They thought perhaps v1 50 Summilux also. Of course the 35s were Canada. Either way this suits the 35 beautifully (Here is the cap with store copy of 35mm Summilux v1). Welcome, dear visitor! luigi bertolotti Posted May 9, 2024 Share #3 Posted May 9, 2024 Some questions abut this odd cap : 1) Is it metal or painted plastic ? 2) What is the function of the side screw visible inyour 1st picture ? (btw - it suggests metal to the previous question) 3) Is there some factory code onto the inner bottom surface ?
Anbaric Posted May 9, 2024 Share #4 Posted May 9, 2024 (edited) There are similar caps for sale here and here. The sellers have given them the code IZQOO, though that's a code I've seen used for plastic caps. Is the screw used to attach a plastic bayonet inside the cap? Is there another screw opposite the visible one? Edited May 9, 2024 by Anbaric

Extending the search I found it quoted also as IZMOO... even in 2 variants... 🙄 http://www.wetzlar-historica-italia.it/tappi.html Edited May 9, 2024 by luigi bertolotti
