Ad Dieleman Posted April 3, 2024 Share #1 Posted April 3, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) My heart sank this afternoon: suddenly I wasn't able to engage the macro setting: the ring got stuck somewhere halfway between macro and normal. Camera broke? Fortunately not. It appears that the front of the lens moves forward and I had two filters mounted, which bumped into the lens hood when trying to engage the macro setting. The Leica UV filter I have, has a fairly thick ring and the ND filter in front of it was very thin, but all-in-all too much. Of course removing the original lens hood solves the problem. Phew, what a relief, no going back to Leica for a repair!

Phew, what a relief, no going back to Leica for a repair! Yes, I can see how that happens. Thanks for the heads up! Luckily I have no filters of the size that fit the Q3, though I am thinking of getting an ND filter for the summer. I have one of these that I sometimes use instead of the Leica lens hood. It came with a lens cap with a cord to attach it to the eyelet. David
