Jackalope Posted March 21, 2024 Share #1 Posted March 21, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently purchased a CV 21mm Color Skopar and started using it on a trip to Mexico. I forgot to check / set the lens recognition function, and when I returned, Lightroom seems my images as coming from a 50mm Noctilux. Aside from the differing composition frames in the viewfinder, has this had any other effect on my images? Thanks for any wisdom you can share! Jackalope Posted March 21, 2024 Author Share #2 Posted March 21, 2024 Thanks; and what about fir 21/3.5?
UliWer Posted March 21, 2024 Share #3 Posted March 21, 2024 Well, you might look yourself if there is any effect to be seen on your images: a 21mm lens may be problematic for the sensor as light comes at an unfavorite angle to the sensor*s edges. This may produce color casts (magenta or magenta and cyan - so called "italian flag"). Lens recognition may help to correct these color casts. If you apply a "wrong" recognition and the correction of color casts is not sufficient you will see it on your results. If there is nothing you feel uncomfortable about the wrong lens recognition will only have an effect on your EXIF data, but not on your images.
