Has anyone compared the Panasonic S 1.8 lenses with the Sigma DG DN 2.0 lenses in terms of autofocus speed in AF-S mode,

and especially in low light situations with the Leica SL?

I would be grateful for any recommendations and experiences!

Well, firmware updates could change things but right now the Panasonic Lumix S 1.8 lenses will offer the best AF speed and low light performance on your SL. Sigma also is introducing a new AF motor design in their latest Art series that offers a step up in AF performance for their larger glass.

Great, thanks for your help!

Actually I wouldn't expect very much difference in AFS speed between the two - the Sigmas seemed just as quick as Lumix lenses when I had an S5, and I'm buying back into L mount partly because I miss those lenses!  The Lumix lenses tend to be better for video especially as they have less focus breathing.  In some, but not all, cases, the Sigmas may be very slightly optically superior for stills.  In some cases, eg the 45mm, they have a bit more "character".

It's a difficult decision! Yes, the Sigma´s are sharper and I like the look and feel of them much better. The Lumix lenses are water resistant, have the same filter size and probably the less harsh bokeh, sounds a bit more convenient.
