S. Wong Posted November 29, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) While browsing through the National geographic Christmas catalog, I saw that Many Toensing in Costa Rica had a range finder on her shoulder. (pg 21) Its the only camera in the catalog, but not for sale -Steven

adan Posted December 3, 2007 Share #5 Posted December 3, 2007 Yeah, the Magnum types shoot assignments for the Nat. Geo., and often use Leica (Alex Webb, David A. Harvey, - and I notice Tomas Tomaszewski (sp?) recently started using Ms). Jim Stanfield used Rs for a while, and there are a couple of other freelancers who shoot R-Leicas for them. A higher proportion of Leica shooters than the general population - but still way outnumbered by Nikon and Canon users. Historically, there was a priest who shot a couple of B&W stories with Ms for NG back in the 70's - first B&W they'd run in 20 years. I think his parish was on the Lakota/Sioux reservation, and he did one story there and another on the Inuit. Then there was the M3 that went up the western route of Everest with the first American team to summit ('63?).
