leocrayon Posted March 17, 2024 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I might have run into issues only a few people noticed. I recently shot many pictures with q3, all of them only in dng. I also forgot to turn the leica looks off, now the fotos app renders the dng with the Leica looks, but that preset got lost after I imported the raw photos to Lightroom. It is great to see that the info of Leica looks is preserved in raw file in some way, but is it possible to turn off the Leica looks rendering in the app? As it is not what I’ll get from the dng

frame-it Posted March 17, 2024 Share #2 Posted March 17, 2024 rendered on the actual DNG or only on the DNG "preview jpg" ?
jaapv Posted March 17, 2024 Share #3 Posted March 17, 2024 I am sure that the DNG has the raw data, and that you are seeing the embedded JPG. View your files in a proper raw converter.

Seems it only renders on the DNG embedded jpg according to jaapv. But fotos app doesn't have the functionality to view the actual DNG even after I dowloaded it to my phone. I knew that Leica looks only applies to JPG, so I thought if I only shoot in DNG, I won't bother with the leica look settings. Now I know that it can also affect how fotos app renders DNG. I wish there could be a setting in fotos app to render the DNG with actual colors though, as the embedded JPG is not what I'm working with when I load it in other software. (*) To view the contents it must be converted in a DNG converter and FOTOS is not a DNG converter. (*) As it is a data file and not an image file a DNG has no colours either, those are assigned during raw conversion by your postprocessing software and will vary between the various programmes and applied profiles. 1
