I have a question regarding the user profiles of the Leica Q3

Creating user profiles is well known and is not a problem. I have created three profiles that I wish to use depending on the situation at hand. (e.g.  street, landscape, track) In the status screen I see a figure with a number 1, 2 or 3 respectively as a symbol for these created user profiles. There is also one with an S (default profile).

Of these three profiles, there is one that I would like to have available every time I start the camera. (e.g. street)

Situation 1

I start my camera and select user “street”. I don't change any settings and turn the camera off. I turn the camera back on and see user “street” selected in the status screen.

Situation 2

I start my camera and select user “street”. During use I make a small change (e.g. change the ISO). In the status screen I now see that the user symbol has changed into a figure without a number. I turn off the camera.

If I now switch my camera back on, I return to the last symbol, namely the figure without a number. This then turns out to be the last used user with the last change. However, as a result, I no longer see which user the camera is set to and I have to select my user profile again in the status screen.

I miss the logic of this and wonder if there is a setting somewhere to ensure that I return to my last used (unchanged) user profile after switching on the camera. (i.e. user “street” ..... the figure with the number 1)

(with my Nikon Z7, the selected user remains activated after switching back on, regardless of the changes applied during use).

Have you followed the instructions on p. 61 of the Manual (Creating Profiles). The same procedure is followed for saving new settings on top of the current settings for an existing profile. (See note at the end of the page.)

I'm afraid that this is the way it works (and incidentally the way I like it to work).

The camera always starts with the settings when you last switched off, and there is no way of knowing what the original user profile was if the settings were subsequently changed

Unfortunately, no.  The minute you change something, the profile changes (shutter speed and aperture don't impact this).  However, whatever settings you did not change should not have changed (under profile street) since the last you used it.  In other words, all the other settings should have stayed the same as you did in your "street setting."

I agree with the OP, a better UI would be to both see the existing profile number and that is state has also changed.
in lieu of that, perhaps there is a telltale sign of which profile you were in? I am able to identify my profile by characteristics on the quick menu page. (Only one profile has a manual ISO setting, one profile is not set to STD, etc)
