swimmingargos Posted March 11, 2024 Share #1 Posted March 11, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello! I have an SL2S and have noticed that when I look through the view finder there is a speck on the lower part of the screen. I have cleaned the sensor, lenses and view finder glass but the speck remains. Would anyone please be able to offer me some guidance on how to remedy this issue before I take the camera in to be serviced. Many thanks...
Advertisement Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 Hi swimmingargos, Take a look here Camera Cleaning Question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
GFW2-SCUSA Posted March 12, 2024 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2024 If the speck is not showing uIp on your photographs, I would just ignore it. Servicing the camera by Leica seems to take months. When you say its on the screen, I am assuming you mean the screen and not the viewfinder. If it is on both that would make me think it is on the sensor. But there are folk here far more informed than I.
swimmingargos Posted March 13, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted March 13, 2024 Thank you very much for your response. The speck only appears when looking through the view finder and does not appear on the photos. It is a bit annoying but not the end of the world. For what I paid for the camera, I just would like things to be right.
vinoeolio Posted March 13, 2024 Share #4 Posted March 13, 2024 You could try the following. Take an electric toothbrush, touch the housing underneath the viewfinder sits and swith it on.....you might have a chance, that forced by the fibration the particle will move away from the lens surface......I think it is worth a try......I managed to get rid of dust particles, wich where sitting in the sensor of my Ricoh GR II.....Good luck.....Josef
