dugby Posted November 28, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted November 28, 2007 Hello Charles. Â I have both a D-lux2 and D2 (as well as a D1 and D3/L1) Â The D-Lux2 is the 8MP predecessor to the 10MP D-Lux3. It has been shown on pbase.com that the images of the D-Lux2 have less digital noise and better resolution in shadows than those from the D-Lux3. Â The images from my D2 are significantly better than those from my D-Lux2. There is a particular Leica "glow" in the D2 images that the D-Lux2 seems not able to capture. Â If you search back through the photos forum, your will find many comparisons of images. Â I still say that the D-Lux2 images are very good, especially for the size and type of camera it is, and I specifically chose it over a D-Lux3, as a backup camera to my D2 whilst travelling. (now that I have a D3/L1..... I have two backup cameras....hahahaha)
