Leica m3 winder keeps “winding” lever has no stop

Hi,

I purchased an m3 that has no stop in the winder. Is this normal?

The winder on dual stroke keeps “winding” moving the lever after 2 strokes.

The left one is working one. The right one is the one which the lever keeps moving.

The film is not winding. Just the lever.

It winds fine. But after the second stroke the right one keeps going and the left one has a stop,

My guess would be the film rewind button mech is stuck and not letting the film advance lever reengage with the winding mech.

One of the famous repair people is saying that the DS is worn out and needs conversion to SS

Well that's M3's for you, you fall in love and stroke them twice and then they are gone.

🙂 Hope not. I love the DS. I was so anti m3 because of how it looks but once you look through the viewfinder and open both eyes it is devine!
