Has anyone else got anything else to add with respect to the Thypoch TTH reissue? Because that's what I - for one - would be interested to discover here in this thread

Tarry! Tarry! Found something!!! Apparently you get a cool silver UV filter for free when you purchase the Thypoch Eureka. Hurray, we are back on topic!

Can we assume that the 'lookalike' lens will be capable of being so collapsed ?

William, I have made a screenshot of live stream, this is the amount the lens collapses.

And finally the naming 😊. I hope it "serves as a pleasant surprise for photographers who love photography".
They also said that Thypoch (pronounced Thai -poch) name is made of words thy epoch, "your era" and their other lens series "Simera" comes from Greek (σήμερα) and means "today" because that other lens series is very modern, very "today".

And About Bloody Time, Too, if you don't mind me saying so!........😸 😸 😸........

Cheers for that, Al, most interesting......although I'm pretty sure that Archimedes' discovery as referenced was to do with Displacement of Volume (therefore being able to calculate the volume of an Irregular Solid); not Buoyancy).

Philip.

Not sure if I posted the APO Lanthar 50/3.5 fully extended though. Here it is in its 45cm MFD glory.

Thanks, Al. As you know, I am only interested in real vintage items, not recreations. It was only out of curiosity that I asked about avoiding the sensor.

I have not bought a digital Leica for nearly 7 years. In that time I would have bought 20 or more vintage film Leicas.

I have it here and I can assure you it is.

Yes my bad, had another lens on my mind 🙈 from Voigt... Of course it is, I have posted the Japanese presentation and a screenshot of the collapsed lens in post #22.
A reminder to myself to never answer forum posts after 14-hour editorial photoshoots 💤.

The original lens has a lot of character.

I only took a few pictures with this lens so far, but it looks more like a high performance lens.
Sharp corner to corner at f/2.0 at infinity.

I received a review sample of the Thypoch 50mm 2.0 today, if anyone has some specific questions I will try to answer them.

Could you compare this lens with Leica Summicron and LLL Elcan?
