M-P 240 dng files corrupting after edit

Not sure if anyone can help but Photomechanic seems to be corrupting Leica DNG files if i colour tag them during editing . Once the image has been edited in ACR and saved I'm unable to go back to that image at a later date to make another edit , i just get an error message from Adobe Raw . I've tried going back to previous versions of PM and the 2020 version of Photoshop but still the same issue . 

Camera Bits support can't seem to get their head round it but i've read somewhere that PM possibly handles xmp files differently with DNG files than with RAW . A bit anoying always tag images so i know which ones i've previously selected for editing .

DNG files ARE raw.  In this case run the DNG file through Adobe's DNG converter (yes, that is possible) and see if the problem persists.
