Advertisement Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Hi FusionX.Photo, Take a look here RRS Q3 grip and L plate coming 26th Feb. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
angelo rosana Posted February 1, 2024 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2024 This one certainly seems more comfortable than the one from the Leica Store. In fact, it is not necessary to remove it when you need to remove the SD card or the battery, which happens quite frequently. Maybe it weighs even less? The original is made of aluminum and weighs 122 g
Woodstock Posted February 4, 2024 Share #3 Posted February 4, 2024 I must admit to be looking forward very much to this becoming available. For those of us who prefer using a grip together with an Arca-Swiss type tripod mounting on the horizontal and vertical aspects there doesn't seem much else of comparable utility. I have been using the standard Leica Q3 grip together with a Three Legged Thing Ellie screwed into the tripod bush on the grip; it achieves the same purpose but with a theoretical potential instability (not admittedly experienced by me) because of the additional Ellie/grip joint, and the combination, although functional, isn't entirely an aesthetic delight! Having previously used an RRS dedicated grip/L bracket on my Fuji XT2 I was impressed with the quality and fit. If that is reproduced on the new Q3 plate I think I shall probably fall victim to its charms! For those who are not concerned about a grip, but would still prefer both a horizontal and vertical Arca-Swiss facility I can thoroughly recommend the Ellie. Qwertynm Posted March 8, 2024 Share #4 Posted March 8, 2024 Has anyone purchased this grip and give their first hand impressions?
Woodstock Posted April 28, 2024 Share #5 Posted April 28, 2024 It was my intention to do so but having contacted Photospecialist, who now appear to be the only importer/agent for RRS in the UK, their reply was that they didn't yet have them in stock, and it may well be that they would decide not to do so. I wondered about importing one from B&H, but they were also currently out of stock, and I lost heart trying to get a specific answer from the uk.gov website as to what import duty would be applied. If anyone has found any realistically hassle free way to import one I would be grateful for info.
