... everyone who helped with answers to my recent questions regarding the M 262 and lenses, frame lines etc. Early days, the camera arrived Tuesday, but I love it already. I really like the rangefinder focusing, though I have to sort my eyes out as struggle lining it up in dim light - opticians today and an appointment to try contact lenses in February, and meanwhile I've ordered a + diopter. I'm also finding it less trouble than I expected to judge composition using the Voigtlander 40mm. The files are lovely, reminiscent of film in a way, less punchy than the Q2. I've got very lazy over the years, and have to reacquaint myself with centre weighted metering, but that's ok. The whole experience is like coming back to my photographic roots. So thank you again all of you who took the time and trouble to help me.

Glad the M262 pleases you from first day.

Magic is in your hands and eyes.

With 40mm lens even close to wide open, at some distance (let's say from 3 meters), no need to align exactly the two images (even if for sake of rangefinder fan it should).

Thank you for the advice about focusing - good to know. And you're right, the magic is in the hands and eyes, but some cameras are a better channel for that magic

So delighted to read that you are making yourself at home with your camera and lens pairing so soon after you first became acquainted. Best wishes for the journey as it progresses and, if you wish to show them, we look forward to seeing some of the photographs you take along the way!
