Einst_Stein Posted January 22, 2024 Share #1 Posted January 22, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am looking for fill light for outdoors for most application. I guess any manual flash works, but how about in the luxury side?
Advertisement Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Hi Einst_Stein, Take a look here Do you use flash light with S3 (or S 007)? Which? (Leica brand of non Leica brand). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Pieter12 Posted January 22, 2024 Share #2 Posted January 22, 2024 I use all kinds of flash with my 006. Studio packs and monolights with the camera in manual mode, as well as Nikon SB900 in auto (not TTL) mode. I think Profoto makes some sort of a dedicated controller for use with the Leica S cameras and their strobes. https://profoto.com/us/products/air-remotes/remotes/profoto-connect-pro-for-leica
Stuart Richardson Posted January 23, 2024 Share #3 Posted January 23, 2024 I was using Profoto B1 and A1 flashes. No TTL or A metering...fully manual, but they worked great. You just need the classic air remote. Not sure if the newer Leica model works on the S cameras, but all you really need is for it to trigger.

davidmknoble Posted January 23, 2024 Share #5 Posted January 23, 2024 I use the Leica SF 64 on the S, fully manual, but on camera with bouncing. Not a studio or flash guy, so may not be close to what you are looking for. I liked the ability to adjust power and bounce for single light source, gentle filling. bevdig Posted January 23, 2024 Share #7 Posted January 23, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) For typical "posed" candids of people in small groups, or alone, a fill flash from an on-camera flash will throw just enough light into the face to prevent the awful look of "owl eyes" from overhead fixtures. I use an ancient Sunpak Auto 611 (thanks ebay) set on manual, and dial back the power to equal the ambient light. Results look entirely natural. You will need the CS lenses to allow for higher shutter speeds outdoors.
Leicalifer Posted April 25, 2024 Share #8 Posted April 25, 2024 (edited) I use Broncolor Grafit packs, Pulso and Unilites strobes, Broncolor ring light, Pocket Wizard Triggers. Broncolor light modifiers. Para 88 is a favorite. Edited April 25, 2024 by Leicalifer Spelling
