AnimalBones Posted January 18, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted January 18, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I use an R6. I have a Metz flash with appropriate adaptor for on camera TTL flash. However, I would like to do off camera fully manual flash. I would like to know what are the requirements for the R6 to drive an off camera flash used fully manual. Can I use any flash or only certain types? Many thanks

jaapv Posted January 18, 2024 Share #2  Posted January 18, 2024 Any automatic flash and standard sync cable will work. If you want TTL use a Nikon cable.

Hi hepcat Is there anything I should be aware of when buying a wireless receiver for an R6 hotshot. I was thinking of getting either the Godox TT600 or Yongnuo 560 flash. Are you able to recommend a suitable receiver please (or anyone else)? thanks

You don't need anything fancy.  I don't think mine even have a brand name on them.  I can't even find what I have on eBay any more, but there are a lot of triggers available. As long as you're firing the flash manually, all you need is the center post in the flash triggers. You don't need a bunch of contacts because you're not using any of that circuitry anyway.
