fotografr Posted January 15, 2024 Share #1 Posted January 15, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I saw these strange formations of ice in the process of forming as they flowed down the river into the lake. It seemed a sure sign that the water was getting cold enough for the lake to freeze over and sure enough this morning it did. M10M/Nokton 50mm f1.2 Welcome, dear visitor! pcgarner Posted January 15, 2024 Share #2 Posted January 15, 2024 Interesting. Probably a very low flow channel with suspended algae (or some similar veg) upon which ice began to form... which would explain the organic shapes of the ice flow. That explanation is as good as anything I could come up with. There is quite a bit of algae growth in the river during the summer.
