Snowman Posted January 15, 2024 Share #1 Posted January 15, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi im charging a new Leica q3 battery in the supplied q3 charger. The green charge and yellow 80% legs both flash at around 2 times per second. does this indicate a battery issue? thanks
Advertisement Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Hi Snowman, Take a look here Leica q3 charging led status. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Knorp Posted January 15, 2024 Share #2 Posted January 15, 2024 I think so ... • Rapid flashing of the two LEDs (> 2 Hz) when charging commences indicates a charging error (e.g. maximum charging time exceeded, voltages or temperatures outside permitted ranges or a short circuit). Disconnect the charger from the mains and remove the battery. Ensure that the above temperature conditions are met and then restart the charging process. Please contact your dealer, the Leica representative in your region or Leica Camera AG if the problem persists.
David Wien Posted January 15, 2024 Share #3 Posted January 15, 2024 The orange LED on my charger is steady when the battery reaches 80%. Normally I only charge until this LED comes on, but the recent upgrade instructions said to fully charge the battery fully and I was surprised how long it took to get from 80% to 100%. David I was under the impression that 100% charge (and discharge to zero in-camera) was recommended for the first 2-3 charging cycles for a new batt, but that charging to 80% was recommended thereafter.
