I'd further guess that if you were to move your eye slightly back from the viewfinder then the effect would be more pronounced. Those of us who are left-eye shooters will probably experience it because of the angle error and uncertain repeatability that results from cramming your nose against the LCD screen and squinting through the VF. ... this will minimize the bias parallatic error.
