addmoresalt Posted January 5, 2024 Share #1 Posted January 5, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, Wondering if there is a way I haven't figured out to achieve the following: at 28mm - shoot M-DNG (36mp reduced file size) at 35/50/75/90 - automatically change to and shoot L-DNG (full resolution) I know people say to just shoot at 60mp and deal with the file sizes, but if I had the opportunity to not - then that would be preferred. For me specifically this would be best of both worlds, as I rarely crop my 28mm shots much at all and simply have no use for the additional resolution. Meanwhile when I want to be emulating a tighter crop, I am leaving a lot of actually useful resolution unless I simultaneously change the resolution. Apologies if this has been asked before, wasn't able to find any post.
Advertisement Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 Hi addmoresalt, Take a look here Q3 crop mode + photo resolution tied together. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Daniel C.1975 Posted January 5, 2024 Share #2 Posted January 5, 2024 Hi, nope, that functionality is not available. I also think it would be handy. On the other side, when using 36mp at 28mm you also might want to crop later and than miss the resolution. However, a choice would be nice, but if wishes where horses beggars would ride 😉 Have fun with the Q3, I certainly still do 🙂
