Alberti Posted December 29, 2023 Share #1 Posted December 29, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am developing a M10-R / 50mm Elmar picture in LRc (as import manager) and C1-20. The scarf is of course the same above and below the hand. I saw a picture with grey areas, unsaturated colors in C1. I tried enhancing with a local spot of extra saturation but that only enhanced the non-reds. I like to report it, and I am sarcastic enough to suggest why there is difference at the end. Advertisement Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Hi Alberti, Take a look here C1 grey-outs (unsaturated spot?). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted December 29, 2023 Share #2 Posted December 29, 2023 Looking directly at your image, to me it is underexposed a little. In Snapseed, on my Galaxy tablet, I have brightened the lower scarf by globally adjusting the exposure in the shadows. Your mixed lighting is quite contrasty. Here is your picture with modest adjustments in exposure and curves. Is this the kind of improvement you sought? Welcome, dear visitor! M11 for me Posted December 29, 2023 Share #3 Posted December 29, 2023 The colour differs. I believe its differen light falling on top or below the arm. But in LR Classic you can easily adjust the WB by means of the brush or mark the part in question as an object.
wda Posted December 29, 2023 Share #4 Posted December 29, 2023 With mixed lighting you must decide which is the most important area to get true to your intention. If you merely correct patches, it risks being oddly uneven. I tried using a brush, but the upper scarf has a different pattern and colour. It is difficult to judge.. I was only trying to help you. If you prefer the Adobe way, stick with Adobe.
Alberti Posted January 5, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted January 5, 2024 Thanks, indeed in LRc there might be some 'intelligent' processing of shadows going on; in fact there even is a filter with which shadows can have a slight different temp if I am correct. Thinking about it. Some time ago I had a portrait printed and the sweater in C1 also had a grey blob area, awkward in fact, while the LRc did not have that. One big take away: be very carefull in those large areas that are underlit. Indeed there was 2 stops underexposure. But hey, how else can I quickly use the Elmar in a dark café?
