Is the 70th anniversary version of the 50mm SUMMICRON-M worth more?

I have been using this just like any other lens but was wondering if it is actually a collectors item or if it is particularly rare. I might pickup another copy if this one should be babied.

Depends on how you look at your equipment: I like to use the lenses and bodies I have. But your Summicron is indeed a collector's item and you can easily find an indication of the difference in value when you check websites where they sell these lenses. This forum does not give price and value estimates of specific items.

These are from a blend of auction results. What you do with the lens is a matter for yourself.

It’s just a minor royalty amongst the many Leica limited editions. If it’s in new condition with all the boxes, manual and papers then sure it should do ok.

Thanks everyone, based on the numbers it looks like there are about 200 copies other there so not particular rare.
