clasami Posted December 13, 2023 Share #1 Posted December 13, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Did anyone notice reflections in teh EVF of the Q2 when bright lights are in the scene (most noticable in dark surroundings)? E.g. bright light in the upper right corner, results in a reflection in the lower left corner.
Advertisement Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Hi clasami, Take a look here Reflections in Q2 EVF. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Le Chef Posted December 13, 2023 Share #2 Posted December 13, 2023 If you wear spectacles, light leak from the side of the EVF surround can be a problem, particularly if you are shooting at 90 degrees to the sun.
clasami Posted December 13, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted December 13, 2023 The reflections are there with and without glasses. There is no light comming from the side. What's reflecting are lamps, TV sets, everything that's bright.
Marc B-C Posted December 13, 2023 Share #4 Posted December 13, 2023 If I have any, I certainly have never noticed them.
clasami Posted December 14, 2023 Author Share #5 Posted December 14, 2023 Take the camera in a dimmly lit room with some bright light sources (lamp or TV) and put the light source to the right. Then watch the left side of the EVF. Or even more simple: Turn on teh historgram which appears in the upper left hand corner. An upside down reflection can be seen in the lower right corner. clasami Posted December 14, 2023 Author Share #7 Posted December 14, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since it is very obvious with mine, I will write to Leica and ask. Could be my EVF.
clasami Posted December 14, 2023 Author Share #8 Posted December 14, 2023 Problem solved! The camera is pre-owned, and the previous owner has put an inexpensive "protection" on the EVF. After removal, no reflections anymore.

But upon closer inspection, there are very discrete reflection even without the protective cover. Nothing to worry about - but they are there. Ou812b4 Posted March 8, 2024 Share #12 Posted March 8, 2024 Hi Clasami, I seem to have the same issue with my new Q3. Was wondering if you had looked into this further or just accepted as a limitation of the camera?
